Welcome
Our visitor attraction is on the sea front in Cullen just passed the historic and listed Cullen Harbour. We’ve been welcoming guests onto the water at Cullen since 2015.
At Cullen Sea School you can choose from coastal rowing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding (SUP) and sailing. Amazing activities to stimulate the senses, keep you fit, healthy and active all set against the stunning backdrop of Cullen Bay and Cullen’s historic harbour.
Regardless of your level of confidence, experience or current skillset, water activities can be enjoyed by all. Our skilled and experienced instructors will help you to improve, or even begin, your journey to finding a water activity that’s right for you. We are fully accessible for wheelchair users with accessible changing room and toilet at the sea school and disabled toilet at the harbour and can cater for anyone with other specific access requirements.

Travel by public transport
- You can get to Cullen Sea School by bus and train.

Getting around inside
Lift
- We have 1 lift.
- You can get the lift from the ground to first floor.
- The lift door is 895mm wide.
- The lift is 1100mm wide. The lift is 1420mm deep.
- The lift says the floor number at each floor.
- The lift buttons have raised numbers or letters.
- The lift shows the floor number, at each floor.
- The lift provides access to the first floor. The flooring in the lift is PVC non-slip material.







Public toilets and Changing Rooms
Unisex Accessible Toliet
- There is an accessible toilet and changing for disabled visitors on the first floor.
- From the main entrance to the public toilet, there is level access with the toilet accessed by stairs or a lift. The toilet door is 900mm wide.
- There is 1600mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 480mm high.
- There are horizontal grab rails located to the left and right of the toilet. There are baby changing facilities within this toliet. There are separate male and female toilets on the first floor.
- There is a grab rail and fold down/wall mounted seat in the shower. The shower room is a wet room with a shower curtain for privacy.

Cullen Harbour Toilets
An additional accessible toilet is available at the Cullen Harbour Toilets managed by the sea school. There is flat and level access into the building. The building is adjacent to the harbour and closer for use during a session.




Watersports
Water sports activities take place in the sheltered water of Cullen Harbour. The harbour is accessed via a ramped slipway onto a sandy beach where you will board the rowing boat, sailing boat, kayak or paddle board.

Cullen Harbour Building Meeting Room
- The external stone staircase has 12 steps from ground level to the meeting room entrance with a small landing/right hand turn on step 5.
- The stairs have a hand rail on the left hand side from the bottom step to top landing by door.
- The approach to the staircase has level access.
- The door is 980mm wide.
- The main door is a push inwards door.



Customer care support
Accessibility equipment
- We welcome assistance dogs and can provide water bowls for them. Please ask staff for assistance.
- The nearest toilet area for assistance dogs is located out the front of the sea school on the gravel area between the entrance gate and sea.
Emergency evacuation procedures
- We have emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors.
- In the case of an evacuation, all customers inside the sea school will be led to safety by a member of the team or by a member of the emergency services.
- The assembly point is outside the gates at the entrance to the sea school yard.
