Cullen is getting ready for its annual Harbour Gala, which is set to take place on Sunday, 29thJuly from 9am to 5pm.

This year the Cullen Harbour Gala will be the biggest event the village will host in 2018 with lots of new activities added by the organisers, the Three Harbours Association.


8.30am – 9am Registration of swimmers (CSS)

9am Safety Briefing including kayakers, RIB and swimmers

9.30am – 12pm Open Water Swimming in Cullen Bay

9.30am Start of 5k swim

10.00am Start of 2-mile swim

10.30am Start of 1-mile swim

11am Start the 800 metres

11.30am Paddlesports taster session

12noon Finish of swimming events

10am – 12noon Sandcastle competition (Sea Front Beach)

 11.45am Sandcastle Judging (Rosie Pye, Wilma Pascoe, Sarah Campbell)

11.30am Start of BBQ

12.20pm – 13pm Paddlesports Demo – Cullen Harbour

12pm – 4pm RNLI visit

12.45pm Rowing Regatta start (Pirate theme)

1.30pm – 3.30pm Sailing/rowing taster session

After skiff races Skiff tug-o-war

4pm Skiff regatta presentation – Keith Patterson Trophy

4.15pm Duck race (Cullen Burn)

While On-shore during the whole day

BBQ with burgers & kippers

Tea, coffee & cake at CSS

WDCS is here with Big Eyes Binoculars, beach games and marine litter presentation

Cullen & Deskford Heritage exhibition at CSS

Sales stalls and tables (0n Pier and at CSS)

Coastguard

Cullen Fire Brigade

Music including Harpist at CSS tearoom and Folk Singing and Sea Shanty’s taking place later on the afternoon
